Big Ten Single Plays Announced for 2013-14

The Minnesota Golden Gophers won’t travel to Indiana or Illinois in 2013-14. The Gophers beat Illinois in Champaign 84-67 on January 9, 2013 and were the only team in the nation to win at Indiana during the 2011-12 season. A road game at Indiana would be difficult to win, but Illinois projects to be somewhat down this coming year.

Williams Arena will not see Michigan State or Nebraska during Richard Pitino’s first season. The Spartans may began the season as the favorite to win the Big Ten. In fact, Tom Izzo and his team could find themselves in the national title hunt. While the Gophers won’t play Tim Miles and his Huskers in Minneapolis, they will play Nebraska at the Huskers’ new arena. The $180 million arena will open up this fall and seating for basketball games will feature sideline seating for students.
